Carlton Oaks has been a local landmark since 1958 and has undergone several major enhancements and design changes throughout the years. Located just 20 minutes from downtown San Diego, it is close to the city's most popular tourist attractions.
The course is one of the finest tests of golf in San Diego County. In 2003, the yardage was increased to 7,225 yards. The beautiful, well-manicured course is as challenging as it is competitive. With five sets of tees that range from 5,044 yards to 7,225 yards, the course will test any player.
The Carlton Oaks golf course features uneven lies, rolling hills, deep head high bunkers, fairway length waste bunkers, 400 mature oak trees, and a meandering creek. Water comes into play on most holes with three lakes and two creeks gently winding through the course. A true Dye-designed course, complete with his signature railroad ties, collection areas and undulating greens are all characteristics that make your visit to Carlton Oaks more enjoyable. The pitching, chipping and putting greens, along with new balls on the driving range, all prepare you to play one of the finest tests of golf in San Diego County.
Carlton Oaks also offers a beautiful setting for catered functions such as weddings, receptions, golf lunches and dinners, corporate meetings, small conventions, holiday parties, retreats and social events. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available overlooking the bridges, trees and lakes of our championship golf course. We specialize in customizing your menu to suit your special style and occasion. The quality of the food and serving staff is not to be matched. Please call us for information on meeting space for 20 or banquet space for 150. Additional outside seating is also available for groups over 150. We offer full-service catering with fabulous food, and our menus can be customized to meet most any needs. Lodge rooms are available with group rates for your out-of-town guests.
